Throughout October and November, Sue Dawson, Harrison Score and Dale Shelabarger walked and cycled the streets, parks and towpaths of London in aid of YGAM and GamCare. Between them they managed to raise £2000. So how did each member hit their target?

Sue Dawson – 121.82 Miles

Head of Content and BNBS Bingo editor, Sue Dawson completed more than 120 miles. Heeding the call back in early October, she braved pretty unforgiving elements to explore most of South-West London. Sometimes accompanied by family and friends, Sue’s journeys took her along the banks of the Grand Union Canal to the beautiful green open spaces of Richmond Park and Hampstead Heath.

Harrison Score – 40.12 Miles

WDW Bingo editor, Harrison Score began his challenge on October 26. Aiming to complete 30 miles, Harrison easily surpassed this target, walking from Putney by way of Barnes Common, along the River Thames to Chiswick and then on to Fulham. Despite being without the support of his trusty Staffie, (bad paw), he covered over 40 miles in a very short space of time.

Dale Shelabarger – 60.72 Miles

Copywriter Dale Shelabarger decided to cycle the Thames towpath. So he revived his derelict bike and embarked on daily voyages from Isleworth to Barnes and back – roughly an 11 mile round-trip comprising some occasionally challenging terrain. His odyssey began November 2 – by the 6th, he’d cycled a little over 60 miles.

The EGR Operator Virtual Race

EGR’s Virtual Race was held in Conjunction with Safer Gambling Week and challenged participants to cycle, run or walk from 30 to 120 miles. Primarily targeted at nominees for the EGR Operator Wards (like us), the race was also open to people from across the eGaming sector.
