The event, which ran from the 14 to 18 of November, was held at the Malta Fair and Convention Centre in Ta ‘Qali. More than 20,000 delegates converged on the tiny republic from across iGaming, including affiliates, operators and regulators.

Like any major iGaming, conference, SiGMA provides attendees with the opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones and potentially forge fruitful business partnerships.

It’s also about gauging the overall mood and trajectory of the industry by engaging with other experts. This is especially important now, considering the challenges facing the iGaming sector.

Top Line-Up of Speakers

A top line-up of speakers was also at hand to offer their thoughts into current and future industry developments. They included CEO of the Malta Gaming Authority, Carl Brincat, Betsson Group CEO, Pontus Lindwall (a fixture at these events) and the Prime Minister of Malta, no less.

Not surprisingly, Sue came back with some valuable insights into the way the industry is headed, especially in the UK. Although some hurdles are to be overcome, there remain plenty of exciting opportunities both here and overseas.

Supporting events were also held over the course of the four days, most notably the Streamers Awards, the Affiliate Grand Slam Awards and the Malta Baby Party.

Streamers Awards

Hosted by SiGMA and Matching Visions, the Streamers Awards was the first gala event to honour the streaming community. 14 awards were handed out with CasinoDaddy landing the Best Content of the Year Award, while the Best Female Streamer of the Year gong went to itsaboutanna.

Affiliate Grand Slam Awards

The AGS Awards were held at the Hilton to recognise industry innovators. The great and the good from media agencies, affiliate networks and advertising platforms were in attendance, with some 15 awards up for grabs. Media Troopers scooped the Marketing Agency of the Year award, Voonix won the Marketing Technology of the Year gong and Lead Legends won Affiliate Network of the Year.

Malta Baby Party

The Malta Baby Party, SBC’s popular networking soiree, took place on the Tuesday. Hosted at the exclusive ‘Hugo’s Infinity’ rooftop venue, the event gathered together key industry stakeholders and luminaries.

Memories of Malta

Sue also visited an Irish Pub for further networking parties as doing a spot of exploring. Here are some of her photos.
