WDW Bingo Growth Spurt Driven by New Casino Sites Success

WDW Bingo, one of FTD Digital’s longstanding UK SEO portals, has experienced a remarkable traffic surge in the second half of 2023. After four years of rather steady growth, what has changed?

The History

Although the oldest of FTD’s bingo comparison sites, WDW Bingo was something of an afterthought in the company’s plans. In 2019, prior to a substantial overhaul and redesign, the site ranked for practically just one term, “£5 deposit bingo sites.”

After a succession of turbulent Google core updates, WDW consolidated a bigger bingo base, while growing into the slots vertical, initially through the success of the “No Wagering Slots” page. Successful forays into further slots areas followed, such as payment methods slots pages, new slots and independent slot sites. Despite the name, slots revenue has outpaced bingo-derived revenue for over 2 years.

At the time of the 2019 redesign, a flurry of aspirational pages were created to target future traffic, including the longshot “New Casino Sites” page, at a time when we barely listed a proper casino site.

As WDW’s foundations strengthened, in 2022 the page started to show some promise, ranking for time-specific longtail keyword combinations. It started to bring in a trickle of traffic. The page continued to gently climb and the URL was streamlined so it no longer clunkily fit into the slots hierarchy.

Google in Overdrive

Over the last 3 months, organic traffic to WDW Bingo has almost doubled compared to the prior period. The slew of Google updates, from the August Core, the helpful content, the spam, the October Core, the Reviews to the November Core update have improved WDW’s rankings substantially.

The “New Casino Sites” page rode this wave and is now ushering in a completely new type of gambling traffic. Whereas much of our New or No wagering slots traffic love a fair, cash balance spins offer, the new casino lot are searching for newer, bigger and bad-assier bonuses and brands. We’re working quickly and closely with long-term and new partners to get the people what they want!

What’s next?

We’re building out a whole new casino section to capitalise on this new stream of traffic. With a handful of pages launched and dozens in the pipeline, we’re hoping that this is just the start of WDW Bingo’s Casino story. Get in touch with us if you want to be a part of writing it!
