The prize of almost £3 million was especially gratifying for the befuddled gamer, given that he’d only staked around £6. The blockbuster win, which will be paid in a lump sum, is the latest in a series of jackpots won on Mega Moolah in 2019.

Microgaming’s flagship slot, in which player stake money is pooled together to form a large jackpot, has paid out more than £100 million this year alone. Some 570 players have also been awarded at least £8000.

Naturally, the people at Genesis Casino were decidedly pleased to be associated with the jackpot, not to mention the free publicity that’s been generated.CEO Ariel Reem was quick to congratulate the latest Mega-Moolah millionaire, stating:

“We’re ecstatic for the player on their massive win on the Mega Moolah jackpot! It’s been a thrilling ride, but one lucky player had to strike – congratulations from everyone at Genesis Casino!”

Microgaming also praised the lucky winner and wasted no opportunity in reminding everybody of the staggering sums generated by the game to date.

‘Congratulations to Genesis Casino and the lucky winner on this truly life-changing win. Mega Moolah has once again delivered an amazing payout. Our industry-leading progressive jackpot network has now paid out €1.1 billion and continues to lead the way, offering players thrilling and rewarding gameplay experiences.’

History of the Mega Moolah Slot

Mega Moolah was launched back in 2006 and has become an iconic slot. Its jackpot is fed by four game variants: Mega Moolah, Mega Moolah Isis, Mega Moolah, Mega Moola 5 Reel Drive as well as the Dark Knight slot.

The bright and cheerful Safari-themed imagery was a hit with players from the get-go. And although the actual game-play is relatively basic with a standard 5 reel layout and just 25 pay-lines, its simplicity has made it more accessible to a wider audience

As a result the game ranks as the most widely-played jackpot slot of all time. This is despite the launch of numerous rival titles in the past few years such as Mega Fortune, Age of the Gods and Funky Fruits.

November marked the 13th anniversary of Microgaming’s ground-breaking progressive jackpot game. Since then Mega Moolah has generated countless big wins.

The highest thus far was the £13 million bonanza awarded to John Heywood – the punter who played in 25p increments.

The next major prize was bagged by Marcus Goodwin when he walked away with a cool £9 million. It seems that Mega Moola is the kind of slot that keeps on giving. You can be sure that we’ll inform you of the next jackpot paid once it comes in. Judging current form, it shouldn’t be too long.
